High School Musical

This weekend, Lexington High School will experience an influx of indie rock fanatics as students screen “The Needle That Sings in Her Heart,” a musical based on the 1998 Neutral Milk Hotel album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea .

Lexington High alum Amanda Palmer (of the Dresden Dolls) will perform in the play, which “centers around Anne Frank, as well as violence, death, and apocalypse – all themes of the obscure concept album,” according to the Herald. (Right, “obscure concept album”….this article kinda made me mad).

If it wasn’t my birthday weekend, I would totally consider going to see this. Maybe they’ll take the show on the road someday?
