Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 3/19/10

Happy St. Joseph’s Day all! I hope a few of you are wearing red and eating a zeppole for me. This week’s “Best of the Looks, Best of the Books” is somewhat abbreviated, since the links come only from what was available Monday and Tuesday, before I left for my trip. That means extra material for next week’s post!

This week’s outfit of the week (Monday/Tuesday) is from My Edit:

I love the trench, the plaid, the vintage necklace, and the boots over the skinny jeans, but I think what really made this outfit for me was the addition of that pop of color with the green printed purse.

Best of the Looks:

Academichic did a full week of tutorial posts on belting.

Naturally Nina has some great photos from this past rainy weekend in Boston.

Hillary has some new handmade flowers in her Etsy shop–perfect for Spring!

In keeping with the rainy Boston theme, Artifaktori has some adorable vintage umbrellas and raincoats to get us through the wet season!

A lovely palette of mint green and tomato red at Oh! Joy (love those Kate Spade flats especially!)

Best of the Books:

Medical training could be more than biology–how literature can help doctors (via The Rumpus)

The New Yorker features new fiction from Junot Diaz this week.

Margaret Atwood cameos in Score: A Hockey Musical. This is not the first time literary types have crossed over into Hollywood territory either, as EW.com’s Shelf Life explains.

Not a book per se, but I LOVE the idea of giving a child a book (or record) a month as they grow up to help shape their taste. {a desert fete}
