Wedding Weekend

It’s been a while since I did a weekend post, but since this weekend was pretty special, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup post, with pictorial highlights! I took a half day on Friday and arrived in Brooklyn with enough time to feast on fried chicken and coconut cream pie at Pies N Thighs. SO GOOD. I wish I had a picture, but we were so hungry, we dug right in.

We followed our meal with some bowling and beer at The Gutter. It was a great time, and a woman from Saranac bought us pitchers! Very nice.

And then there was brunch on Saturday morning at the Clover Club in Carroll Gardens. I thoroughly enjoyed this place and let’s talk about the bacon sampler, pictured above. It was pretty life-changing. Pepper bacon, maple bacon, and duck bacon. I want one right now, please.

After brunch, it was time for a wedding under the Brooklyn Bridge!

Jen is one of Joe’s very good friends from college. The ceremony was lovely, and she looked beautiful! Her dress was classic and romantic, and I loved the purple accents of her shawl and flowers. Her nail polish and shoes were also purple! (And her shoes were vegan!)

Vegan red velvet wedding cake, complete with custom wedding topper featuring Jen and Alex’s cats!

I recycled a past dress, but sssshhhhh.
