Bags for the Beach, Bags for the Books

Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching, which usually means getting the heck outta town. Or, if you’re staying in town, at least relaxing and attending a cookout or two. Who doesn’t love Memorial Day?? Joe and I are taking a weekend trip to Burlington, Vermont. I’m so excited! I’ve never been. We’re planning on visiting Cabot, Magic Hat, and of course, Ben & Jerry’s. We’re also hoping to do some shopping, eating (besides ice cream and cheese), and relaxing. While there aren’t any beaches in the vicinity, I still plan to lounge somewhere with a good book.

In honor of this long weekend, I threw together a little bag guide for your weekend day trips–some crisp, nautical-inspired beach bags, and some fun tote bags to tote your reads to the nearest park.

Bags for the Beach,Bags for the BooksFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

For the Beach:

Old Navy two-tone canvas beach tote: $10

Juicy Couture terry beach bag: $200

Cherry Red Boutique anchor tote: $25

For the Books:

Hollister SoCal summer tote: $20

Cafe Press UK owl tote: $19

ModCloth You Otter Know tote: $35

Fred Flare hot dog tote: $26

And while we’re on the subject of bags, my beloved $12 vintage bag that I’ve been using for over a year now is starting to fall apart. Unsightly holes and all. So, instead of this incredibly sweet offer of new birthday sandals, I decided to ask for a bag instead. And lo and behold, Piperlime is having a sale this week, and I picked out this bag–you have already seen it in the Elegance of the Hedgehog Fashion Book! I can’t wait until it arrives!!

What are your Memorial Day plans?

Good choice on the birthday bag.

You know how highly I approve of your choice in birthday bag! šŸ˜‰ I love these totes! Especially the otter one. Might have to get it! And I don’t usually like Juicy Couture, but this bag you picked out is really adorable. Too bad it’s out of my (price) league.
