Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 12/3/10
It seems as though I blinked and fall was over, and now winter is here and the holiday season is in full swing! Every year, I tell myself not to worry about the holidays until Thanksgiving is over, and then bam, I’ve got 3 weeks to buy gifts, plan parties, and attend parties! It’s a whirlwind. Maybe someday I’ll learn.
This weekend we have good friends from Rhode Island visiting and we plan on lots of eating, shopping, and holiday sight-seeing. It should be lots of fun! What are you up to this weekend?
Best of the Looks:
In an interesting clash of two of my favorites, Tim Gunn appeared on Conan Wednesday night and they discussed jeggings. Conan went on to host last night’s show in the most hideous pair of jeggings this world has ever seen. I love that man.
If I was going to a fancy New Year’s Eve party this year, I would splurge on a sequined party dress, a la Angelina Jolie.
Swiss Miss profiles Krbb, a local version of Etsy. Perfect for holiday shopping!
One of my new favorite style blogs is The Daybook. I am loving this outfit and am planning my own version, sometime soon.
A great roundup of winter dresses at Sally Jane Vintage.
These superhero photos of a Hungarian grandma just make me happy.
Best of the Books:
A fun quiz to show you what type of type you are (I’m Courier).
B. Jones Style suggests the Stylit fashion planner as a great stocking stuffer. I agree! (Though I’m a nerd and plan all my outfits via Google docs…yep.)
An interesting read: a letter from David Foster Wallace’s editor at Penguin on his first impressions of Infinite Jest.
