Fashion Book–Great House

2011 January 6

As I mentioned earlier this week, I read Great House over the break. For this week’s return to the Fashion Book feature, I decided to create a look for one of the more enigmatic characters in the book, Leah Weisz. Leah is the daughter of an antique furniture dealer, a man whose specialty is retrieving items lost from families during the Holocaust. Both Leah and her brother are sheltered and quiet, two of the most mysterious characters in the book. Though they are both central to the story, neither of them narrate any of the sections of the book. Leah is a pianist, small and beautiful. For her outfit, I chose refined pieces with a classic look and vintage jewelry, to reflect her background.
