Golden Globes 2011

2011 January 17

After a long day spent traveling back from a weekend visiting friends in Maryland, I spent Sunday night on the couch with a bowl of ice cream, a glass of whiskey, and the Golden Globes. It was the perfect way to unwind.

I was disappointed with much of the show itself, but I wanted to do a brief roundup of my favorite looks of the evening. I won’t mention the many disappointments because one of my New Year’s resolutions is if I don’t have anything nice to say, I won’t say anything at all. (That’s actually not true at all–I gave up trying to be nice years ago.)

Anne Hathaway was actually my favorite look of the whole evening, from the shoulder pads to the hair and the sequins.

I love when women embrace emerald green, so I was happy that the shade was a popular choice last night. Catherine Zeta-Jones looks great in this dress.

I’ll always have a soft spot for Claire Danes from the My So-Called Life days, but her simple pink dress is classic and stunning.

I thought Mila Kunis was robbed of the supporting actress award (she was one of the best parts of Black Swan), but at least she looked good.

Another disappointment was Modern Family‘s loss to Glee, but I was a fan of Sofia Vergara’s classy gown.

What were your favorite (and least favorite) red carpet looks from the Golden Globes this year?
