Fashion Book: Little Women–Beth

2011 March 9

It’s time for the 3rd installment of the Fashion Book Classics–it’s Beth’s turn!

Beth March was the quiet one, the “good” sister. She played the piano and read and pined silently after Laurie, her neighbor and older sister’s boyfriend. Who says the 1800s were drama-free? And then, of course, (spoiler alert)…Beth dies. Which is the part that everyone remembers, so really, isn’t Beth the most memorable sister, in the end?

For Beth’s outfit, I thought she would wear something subtle and understated, but pretty and romantic at the same time.

I don’t consider myself a shy wallflower like Beth, but I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat. Those flats are adorable, and don’t even get me started on the trench coat.

What a gorgeous outfit! Just goes to show that sometimes the “good girl” can look damn good.

haha – for some morbid reason, i always related to beth the most when i read “little women” (which was probably over 500 times growing up). and, ironically, you have managed to create an outfit for her that exists in my closet currently (with about 500 variations on it). you’re amazing, jill!

next, can you do characters from the “boxcar kids” series ? 😉

I am so obsessed with your blog now! As a book nerd and fashion obsessor you have combined my two favorite worlds perfectly. I’m definitely a new follower. Oh and my Mom is named Beth because of the book Little Women – so great.
