Weekend Rewind 3/25-3/27

2011 March 28

I had a great New York weekend. Joe’s mom and aunt were in town, so we kicked off the weekend with dinner at Trattoria Dell’Arte in Midtown with them and family friends. After much good food and conversation, Joe and I departed back to Brooklyn to meet friends in town from Boston, where we drank beers and caught up.

Saturday was another fun and busy day, with shopping in Manhattan (we went to Bloomingdale’s, where I had never been before. I fell in love with several Tibi and Marc Jacobs dresses…though I didn’t buy anything, it was still fun to look at all the pretty things!), then back to Brooklyn to tour our apartment and neighborhood, followed by a delicious dinner at Char No. 4, and dessert at The Chocolate Room. After Joe’s mom and aunt departed, we attended a birthday party in the beautiful back room at Clover Club, one of our neighborhood favorites.

We took it easy on Sunday, but we did venture out of the apartment for a walk across the BQE to the Columbia St. Waterfront, where we found an amazing used book shop called Free Bird Books and ate quesadillas at Calexico before returning home to finish Season 3 of The Wire.
