Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 4/1/11
Happy April Fool’s Day, friends! Don’t worry–I won’t be playing any pranks on you. I was never much into this holiday–every time I would try to pull a joke on anyone, I would end up laughing about 30 seconds into my attempt. I’ve given up and left the joking to the professionals.
My sister is coming to stay with us for the weekend tomorrow, so I have a fun weekend in store! We’re planning a trip to the Brooklyn Flea for the first outdoor weekend of the season, as well as dinner at Frankie’s. What are you up to this weekend?
Best of the Looks:
I don’t usually do celebrity style here, but I have always thought Liv Tyler is beautiful and I really loved her outfit when she was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week. She can’t go wrong with simple black tailored pieces and then BAM, hits you with the sparkle. Love it.
Not only do I love Meredith’s simple vacation look at Cubicle Chic, but I’m also very jealous of the island backdrop.
A gown made entirely of Little Golden Books.
I may not be able to pull off April Fool’s jokes, but Tania at What Would a Nerd Wear has it down pat.
Best of the Books:
Everyone’s been blogging about these embroidered Penguin Classics book covers, but they’re too lovely to not show you.
Find the Future is an overnight scavenger hunt taking place at the New York Public Library to help celebrate their centennial.
Whoa, they are publishing a new series of Sweet Valley High books…ten years into the future.
Tips for curbing a mild case of bibliomania.
