The Shoe Fits

2011 April 26

I’ve been a bad blogger lately, feeling unmotivated and uninspired. I’ve been super busy with work and travel, but I know that the only way to beat the blogging slump is to just work through it.

Though I’ve been feeling uninspired style-wise lately, that hasn’t stopped me from picking up THREE pairs of shoes in the last two weeks. That’s pretty out of the ordinary for me, but it’s my birthday present to myself…though my birthday is still two weeks away. Minor details.

I’ve been coveting Tania’s yellow flats and have needed flats that I can actually walk around the city in, so I was so happy to find these Born flats at the DSW near my house in Rhode Island when I was home this weekend for Easter. They’re a yellow Batik pattern and so comfortable. I’ve been wearing them ever since I bought them.

I bought these wedges at the Clark’s outlet in Napa, where we stopped on the way to the airport on our last day. They’re very comfortable but still fancy enough to wear to summer weddings and parties.

The third pair was more like a bonus–I’ve been back and forth about buying a pair of Oxfords for the longest time, but nothing’s ever clicked. Until I found these on sale at DSW, walked around the store in them, and found that they’re actually really comfortable. Since the price was so right, I just couldn’t turn them down.

What do you think? Have you bought any new shoes for the spring?

Cute finds! I especially like the wedges–fancy AND comfy is such a rare combo. Now I’m feeling inspired to do some summer shoe shopping myself, especially since clothes shopping isn’t quite as fun these days!

Really loving all three of these and think you’ll get a lot of wear from each. I too have been on the fence about oxfords for awhile — I really love the ones you ended up with though. Super cute.

Love the silver ones, they are so perfect for a night out, either casual or dressy. And I also love those flats, they are neutral in color but the pattern keeps it interesting! Glad they are comfy, too. Its a bummer to have to suffer to look good!
