Waiting for a Fall

2011 August 31

Monday morning post-Irene in Brooklyn was sunny, breezy, and honestly, just a shade chilly. A gorgeous day, but also a reminder that Fall is only a few short weeks away, and with it comes the end of throwing on a sundress and sandals to call it a day.

I went through some of my pins on Pinterest and put together some of my favorite looks that are inspiring me for Fall–what are you looking forward to wearing in the new season?

A structured mustard yellow jacket from Nanette Lepore’s Fall 2011 collection

Julie at Orchid Grey shows off how you can autumnize a pretty printed dress with a trench and colored tights

The Other Emily layers a blazer and scarf over a simple t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Comfy chic.

Khatu demonstrates how to wear a cozy cable knit sweater and still look completely put together.

A high-waisted, wide-legged silhouette makes jeans fun again.

Emma Stone’s biker jacket makes me anxious to wear the little brown Express motorcycle jacket I got at Buffalo Exchange a few months back.

The maxi isn’t just for summer–I like how Elaine at Clothed Much pairs hers with a chambray button-up.

SWOON. That mustard jacket has my name ALL OVER IT. And have you been watching Project Runway at all? One of the guys made this AMAZING motocycle jacket last week, and when he won they made it available on amazon! It’s way out of my price range, but still. http://www.amazon.com/Project-Runway-Leather-Jacket-X-Large/dp/B005I63GU2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314804242&sr=8-1

YES…it also has my name on it, so we can share, perhaps. :)

I have indeed been watching Project Runway, and was coveting the maxi dress for myself. I was disappointed to see that the cool pink stripe was taken off though! Now it’s too simple to justify the pricetag.
