Bright Bottoms

We all have trends that we swear we’re not going to succumb to…only to surrender eventually, after realizing there’s a reason why said items are trendy. For me, it was skinny jeans, then leggings, then maxi dresses. The trend that’s currently haunting me is colored pants–I’ve sworn not to wear them, not because I don’t think they’re adorable, but because I just don’t think I can pull them off. But they’re EVERYWHERE and they’re so cute and fun and spring-like. What’s a girl to do? If you can’t beat ’em, you might as well join ’em…or at the very least, try on a pair to see what they even look like. Here are some fun, cute options:

J. Crew Cafe Capri in warm jade: $89.50

Zara Skinny Trousers: $14.99 (SALE)

J. Brand 811 Ankle Skinny Jeans: $176

Gap Broken-In Straight Khakis: $49.95

Mossimo Skinny Denim: $22.99

So many options! Are you wearing colored bottoms this spring?

You can totally pull them off! Old Navy has some pretty cheap ones if you are worried about the investment :)

Love the blue of the J Brand jeans! And J.Crew’s cafe capris are some of my favorite summery pants, although I usually stick to black. This might push me towards brighter shades.

I’m loving the colored bottoms trend! I really want a pair of J Crew’s Cafe Capris but definitely cannot afford that…

Hope you have a great Monday :)

you are SO right about those trends that we now all do! i hated skinnies, leggings and maxis, yet now i have tons of those in my wardrobe. i took the plunge on the colored bottom trends with red jeans, and it was a good way to ease into it. now i have cobalt blue skinny trousers ($25 from Target and they fit like a dream!), and they worked their way seamlessly into my rotation.

I think I’d wear colored pants if I could find them in dark colors–dark purple, dark red. But I’m bigger on the bottom so I tend to stick with darker, boot-cut pants as they are the most flattering, and sometimes flattering colored pants are harder to find for curvier bums! But I will seek them out, as they seem fun.

I do NOT ever want to try the floral pants trend that seems to be edging its way into fashion though. It’s like wearing curtains on your legs! (Reminds me of Sound of Music drapery clothing. “They’re playclothes, Captain!”)
