Coverall: Lord of the Flies

2012 February 28

A couple of months ago, Flavorwire published a list of the 20 most iconic book covers of all time.  I have already done #20, Fahrenheit 451, so I thought it would be fun to tackle the entire list over the next 19 weeks.

The Cover:

I read Lord of the Flies in high school–what a terrifying scenario. Have any of you read it? What did you think?

The Look:

I went for something island-inspired here, with a rugged edge.

I haven’t read it yet, but I think this outfit would also be a great match for Beauty Queens by Libba Bray: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9464733-beauty-queens

great outfit! i think the boys from lord of the flies probably couldn’t handle it, or, more accurately, the woman who would be wearing it, haha. my mom, zach, and i had a really interesting philosophical conversation about this book over the holidays… was their behavior a product of nature or society? i am still thinking about it and may have to revisit the book. also, i just looked up your outfit for a moveable feast because that book is next on my to-read list… loved it. it would fit right in here. miss you!

LOVE the outfit you put together! It’s very cute. I also found Lord of the Flies terrifying. Especially when poor Piggy’s glasses get stolen. I cannot imagine how I’d survive without being able to see clearly!
