I’ve been looking high and low for cropped white jeans that aren’t see through and don’t make me feel like a hippo. Partly because they’re pretty hot right now, partly because white just looks nice in summer, and partly because I once had a pair of cropped white pants that I loved loved in college, but they grew too small (or I grew too big. It’s all in the way you choose to think about it). One of my favorite outfits that spring of senior year was a hot pink, long-sleeved shirt (still have one of these, though it’s a different one), a patterned pink scarf I wore as a headband, and the white pants. Those white pants were from the Gap, and the white jeans I bought myself on my birthday are also from the Gap. Maybe I’m trying to recreate my youth, or something, but whatever it is, I’m okay with it.

Pink button up: J. Crew Factory

White pants: Gap

Oxfords: DSW

Bag: Aldo

Joe said I looked a little “country club” in this outfit, but I am also okay with that.

My new bag that doubles as a clutch–I haven’t bought a new bag in over a year, and I thought this was perfect for summer strolls and concerts and day trips.

Obligatory shoe shot.

How do you feel about white pants?

OBVIOUSLY they SHRANK, Jill. White pants are notoriously unreliable.

I could never pull off white pants as I am the female version of PigPen, but power to ya. They look crisp and flattering; the whole outfit is super cute.

Also, would it interest you to know that instead of typing ‘’ to get here I typed JillD—–.com instead? Hmm. What does that mind slip mean?

You look adorable! Love the outfit. You look so fantastic in bright pink. And that bag is divine.

I don’t wear lighter colors (including white and khaki) on my lower half because darker colors are more flattering to my voluptuous figure. I don’t think I’ve ever owned white pants and I doubt I ever will, but that’s okay because I love my dark pants and I’m too clueless to follow trends anyway (also: your aforementioned see-through issue. WTF, designers? You’d think they’d make them opaque!). And heck, if you look a little bit country club, it’s a club I’d like to join! 😉

You look so cute! I love the brights you paired the white pants with. I wanted a pair of white pants for quite some time and I finally thrifted a pair. In my mind I thought, whenever I get white pants they’ll be skinny but these are high waisted and tapered, sort of preppy looking. I’m glad you made this post because I wasn’t sure if it was okay to wear white pants yet. The weather has been so inconsistent. Some days feeling like autumn others like summer. Happy Belated Birthday!

I love this outfit….pink and blue together this way are my favorite! And the pants are divine. Just wondering if Joe climbed on the roof to take that overhead shot of you…well done!
