Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 6/8/12
It’s a lovely Friday and the weekend is nigh! (I think that’s how you spell it? If not, please feel free to correct me). Coincidentally, quite a few friends from grad school are converging in the city this weekend, so I’m in for a lot of fun reunion-ing (new word?) and carousing. Hopefully this will involve drinking on patios, eating fun food, and reminiscing about our wild youth.
In the meantime, I hope these links make your Friday a bit more vibrant:
Best of the Looks:
Technically, Annie’s look from The Other Side of Gray is from last week, but I really dig the blazer/shorts combo, and the stripes on her espadrilles and cute tote. It’s perfect for summer!
This is one of the most gorgeous vintage dresses I’ve ever seen.
An aquatic statement necklace.
Tips on mixing modern and vintage at Consider Me Lovely.
Love the quirky print of this Alice and Olivia skirt.
Best of the Books:
A lovely book clock.
I’m tackling Ada or Ardor this month, so it seems apt that Publisher’s Weekly lists Nabokov’s top 10 short stories for those who don’t have time for 500-page novels about incest.
A nice homage to Marilynne Robinson–can’t wait to read her new book of essays for book club next month!
