Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 6/15/12
I skipped my morning workout this morning and slept late. I am wearing jeans and sneakers at the office because I’ve been wearing heels all week. I am leaving work early (I have a doctor’s appointment, but still, it feels celebratory). The sun is shining, and I’m going to a Jens Lekman concert tonight in the park–in other words, life is good.
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
Best of the Looks:
I’m completely smitten with Blair’s DVF maxi dress, and I love how she paired it with a simple scarf and flats. Such a pretty twist on the maxi!
This Anthropologie dress has tiny teahouses printed all over it.
Dresses are my favorite any time of year, but especially for summer. Piperlime helps us budget-conscious shoppers out with a roundup of dresses under $50.
I just bought an amazing new tote at BookCourt this week, but this fancy leather version is awful perty.
Best of the Books:
Now here’s a reading list I can get behind: a round-up of books about rich people in New York doing rich people things.
Henry Miller’s writing commandments.
I love Lev Grossman’s article on walking and reading at the same time--do you do it?
My good friend Llalan runs a bookstore in Ohio. Her blog is great. You should read it.
Jay McInerney’s take on Gatsby…from Britain.
