Engaged

2012 August 21
by Jill

I am getting married a month from tomorrow. Needless to say, my head has been filled with all of the details we still need to take care of–dates, payment amounts, seating charts, decorating ideas all jamming my brain so it’s nearly impossible to think of anything else (such as this blog, for instance!). This is a problem, because I’ve got lots of other things going on right now as well, which leads to me feeling a bit overwhelmed in general these days.

However! Make no mistake–I am so excited about the wedding, and can’t wait to celebrate with our families and friends. It’s going to be great! I just need to get through this next month with minimal panic. Who, me, panic? Yeah…easier said than done.

I thought it would be fun to post some photos from the “engagement” session we had with our wedding photographer a few weeks ago (though we’ve been engaged for well over a year now). Though she lives upstate, she was able to stop by Brooklyn on her way home from a trip and took some lovely photos of us gallivanting around Red Hook and in our apartment. Here are some of my favorites:

LOVE your dress! You guys look so cute. And every overwhelmed couple I’ve talked to in the last couple of years has gone on to have the most awesome time at their wedding, so I’m positive you’ll have a blast as well. Can’t wait to see the upcoming wedding pictures!

Love these!! I want the full link to all of them!!!

Can’t wait to celebrate with you…. Every month before a wedding gets overwhelming at times, especially when there’s life that has to happen at the same time, but I know you can pull it off. :) Just don’t forget your marriage license or music for the ride down!

The photos are gorgeous, I can’t decide which one I like best! Just remember that the ultimate goal after all of this stress is that you will be able to relax once you get to Rhode Island, and just enjoy the fruits of all of your hard work and planning! And you have help, so just ask! Can’t wait until the big day.

Yes — I agree. The ultimate goal is to enjoy it all in RI… and ditto on the ask for help if you need it statement!
We’ll be in Fri AM if you need anything!

What adorable, sweet photos! :) I love them, what a fun photo shoot, and The Chief got to join in too! (Kudos to Joe on the fine green sneaks.)

You’ll get everything done, I just know it! Make lists and then make lists of the lists. Crossing things off, even tiny things, feels very soothing. Also, spend a little time every day just canoodling with the gent you’re marrying, even if you think you’re too busy to stop and enjoy being together doing nothing productive. That will remind you that all the stress is for the greater good! (And PS: never stop the daily canoodling once married. It rocks.)

    XOXO!
