Welcome to Paradise
So, the last time I wrote, I rubbed it in a little that I was going to Hawaii. Now, I’m back, and the past month seems like a dream. First of all, I got married. I’d love to share photos of that too, but the professional photos aren’t done yet, and I want to showcase those here, so it will be a few weeks more. Then, we went to Hawaii, which was even more beautiful and relaxing than I imagined. If you’ve never been, and have reservations about going because it’s technically part of the US and you’d like somewhere more exotic–no. This place is not only gorgeous, but the indigenous culture and history is fascinating and beautiful and rich. Not to mention the landscape, which is unlike anything I’d ever seen before.
Anyway, I thought life would slow down a bit when we got back because there wasn’t any more wedding/honeymoon planning to take care of. Well, I was wrong. I’ve been more busy than ever, planning holiday travel, travel for friends’ weddings, catching up on real life, changing my name, and oh yeah, starting a new job. It’s been a whirlwind, and the relaxing breezes of Hawaii seem like a mirage at this point. But I’m so glad and lucky to have these memories…until we go back, one of these days.
Here are some favorite photos from our time in Paradise:
The view from our hotel room in Honolulu
Lunch at our hotel in Kailua Kona
Joe and I posing with one of the many sea turtles chilling on the beach
Our private dinner on the beach
Volcanoes National Park, where we hiked to the bottom of a crater
Of course, I did a lot of reading
The Beach Tree
Anyway, it’s pretty clear that our honeymoon was fantastic, so I’ll stop here. I hope to get back in the swing of updating more frequently but things could still be a bit hectic over the next couple of weeks as we are traveling for two more weddings and I’m still settling into a routine at my new job.
