Nanimals
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve no doubt noticed the trend in cute animal sweaters. They’re EVERYWHERE. You can get owls, foxes, puppies, horses–you name it, I’m sure you can find a sweater out there featuring your favorite creature. It’s a veritable fashion Noah’s Ark out there. Here are some of the favorites I’ve noticed over the last few months:
Keiko Lynn, sporting a cat with glasses. And a cute pup. Pretty much all the best things.
Damsel in Dior shows off her bulldogs
Clarabelle celebrating her puffin sweater
I haven’t found the perfect nanimal sweater yet, but I just couldn’t pass up a t-shirt with Boston Terriers on it I found at Urban Outfitters last weekend, on sale for $12:
What do you guys think of the trend? Do you have any sweaters with cute animals on them? Would you wear them?

I’m a little afraid that they’ll look dated in a couple years, but damnit this is one trend I can get behind. Who doesn’t want an adorable sheep/puppy/whale on their sweater?
I’ve made several comments in the last few months about how utterly screwed I am when this goes out of style. I currently have blouses with foxes and robots (but not robot foxes, which would be a way to get me to buy another shirt, Zara!), and I have the Frenchie J.Crew sweater (pictured above), and I have a sweater with a giant gnome. Do gnomes count? I think gnomes count. I also have a heart sweater.
This paragraph has taught me two things: I have purchased too much in the last year, and I want more things with things on them. ALL OF THE THINGS.
Thanks for the shoutout lovely!! This is definitely one of my favorite trends this season!
What does “nanimal” mean?
I have been guilty of following this trend for years before it was a trend, as evidenced by the growing collection of things with a penguin on them in my closet…
I hope this cute animal trend doesn’t go away.
Nanimal is just a funny word I say sometimes.
OH! I thought it was like a “thing.” Like some official fashion-world term for items with animals on them. I was all, woe, I am behind the trend terminology.
It is adorable, and so are you! And so is your puppy t-shirt.
