Third Annual Clothing Swap

2013 January 22

A few weeks ago I held my third clothing swap. (You can see recaps of previous swaps here and here). If the concept of a clothing swap is new to you, here it is in a nutshell: A clothing swap is a great chance to not only clean out your closet, but acquire some new threads for zero dollars and mingle with the ladies. Joe again served as our “master of ceremonies,” holding up each item and offering a brief description (sometimes a gem like this–“This is…a skirt?”). If anyone is interested, they raise their hand and grab the item. There are periodic breaks to try things on and share items that don’t fit/more than one person likes, as well as refill on snacks. It’s definitely one of my favorite events of the year, and I encourage anyone who hasn’t experienced one to either arrange one yourself, or seek one out in your town.

Here are a few photos of this year’s swap and the ladies holding up some of their wins:

Anything with bows goes to Georgette

Joe, performing his host duties

Leah and the coveted green bag

TJ and her fabulous leopard-print sequined dress

Mallory and a most excellent example of Taiwanese fashion

Kim rockin’ the shades, and a new CD

Kristine got to take home this adorable anchor skirt

I didn’t take any photos of myself, but here’s a random outfit photo from a few weeks ago that I meant to post to show off my new Kate Spade purse (a Christmas present from Joe’s parents) and my beloved Frye boots, which Joe got for me for a wedding gift.

Hope you had a great weekend!
