Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 2/1/13

2013 February 1

It’s February! This week, and apparently the entire month of January, has gotten away from me. Yikes. The weather has been all over the place and so has my focus.

I’m looking forward to the weekend! Joe and I are going to try out the new hot restaurant in our neighborhood tonight (thanks to a gift certificate we got for a wedding gift!) so I’m SUPER excited about that.  The rest of the weekend will be fun too, despite the cold–there will be karaoke, a stop at a Super Bowl party, and then the Local Natives show at Bowery Ballroom. Fun!

Best of the Looks:

I really like white dresses with dark tights for the winter, and the combo of the dainty eyelet, denim, and oxblood bag really work here. (Source)

Obsessed with the new NY Times Red Carpet Project feature, where you can sort red carpet looks by color, year, and designer. So much fun!

Adorable ASOS book clutch!

Black polka dot maxi skirt? Yes please!

As usual, Elie Saab’s 2013 Spring Couture collection is perfection. Sparkly, beautiful, perfection.

My leopard flats took a beating last year, so I might need some new ones for Spring. This pair from Nine West would do nicely.

A pretty lipstick guide for every occasion!

Best of the Books:

This sums up exactly how I feel when I forget a book to read on the train.

AMY POEHLER IS WRITING A BOOK. Can’t wait!

Who says writers don’t have juicy love lives? (I don’t think anyone says that, but in case they do…)

Hemingway’s fake six-word story.

Amazing cat poem.

What are you up to this weekend? Have a great one!
