Diane Von Furstenberg and the Tale of the Empresses’s New Clothes
I recently received a copy of Diane Von Furstenberg and the Tale of the Empress’s New Clothes, part of Camilla Morton’s Fashion Fairy Tale Memoir series. The book tells parallel stories–one of Diane Von Furstenberg’s meteoric rise in the fashion world and the other a rehashing of the classic fairy tale, “The Emporer’s New Clothes.” The two stories eventually intersect at the end, when Diane saves the day with her famous wrap dress.
It’s a fun little book, but for me, the best part was definitely the illustrations, which were done by the DVF Design Studio.
If you’re a Diane fan, as I am, it’s a pretty addition to your bookshelf, and a clever idea.
Other titles in the series are Christian Lecroux and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty and Manolo Blahnik and the Tale of the Elves and the Shoemaker.
