Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 3/15/13
Beware the Ides of March, my friends, and prepare for St. Patrick’s Day hi-jinks for the weekend. This week has felt long, monotonous, and cold. I always say March is my least favorite month because it’s that month where you are SO READY for Spring, and you get tricked into thinking it’s here, but it’s really not. And won’t be for another few weeks. So let’s just keep shining on–there IS a light at the end of the tunnel (at least in the form of it being light when you leave work after 5, which is the most amazing kind of light!).
Any big weekend plans? We have a friend in town tomorrow, but no big plans to celebrate St. Patrick’s…of course, that could all change. You never know!
Best of the Looks:
If I wore this outfit, I would look like a hobo wearing hummingbird heels. But not Lucy Laucht. She looks fantastic, as per usual.
Shopping ban be damned, this is a t-shirt with a French bulldog on it. I want it.
Woody Allen inspired nails–who knew?
This checkered coat is so chic and sophisticated.
A silly piece about what your favorite GAP scent said about you. (I think mine was Dream? I don’t remember!)
A fantastically thorough guide to cleaning out your closet.
Best of the Books:
In love with these bookends. So cute!
A stirring essay about how reading can impact our surroundings.
I’ve never read Eileen Myles, but after reading this, I will.
Claire Vaye Watkins just won the 2012 Story Prize for Battleborn. Have you read it yet?
Joy Williams’ daily routine sounds like a life I’d like to lead.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
