Things I Love This Week–3/27/13

2013 March 27

Is winter ever going to end? I need some sun, stat!

Things that are currently making me happier than the gray, cold weather:

1. Easter Candy

Everyone can agree that Easter candy is the best seasonal candy, right? Reese’s peanut butter eggs are pretty much my favorite candy of all time, but I also really love Cadbury mini-eggs. Too bad I can’t find them in New York for some reason.

2. Barre3

I found a link to three free Barre3 workouts on Prevention.com and I’ve been doing them on those mornings I don’t have quite enough time to make it to the gym (or it’s just way too cold/rainy/SNOWY) and I love them! I’ve been wanting to try a good barre workout for a long time, and this one is great. It makes my legs shake, and I’m sore for a couple of days afterward, but that’s the mark of a good workout, right? Have you tried barre workouts?

3. Justin Timberlake

If you haven’t heard the new album yet, what are you waiting for?? It’s added some much-needed groove to my days at work.

4. Mad Men

In anticipation of the Season 6 premiere on April 7 (!!), Joe and I have been watching Season 5 and I’m hooked all over again. I can’t wait to see what happens to all of these characters I’ve grown so attached to. Matthew Weiner, you really know how to toy with my emotions.

5. Dream House

Domesticity and decorating aren’t really my thing. It’s fun to look at, sometimes, but I would normally prefer shopping for shoes rather than shopping for home decor. But this house, featured on Design Sponge this week, made me gaze dreamily through every image and daydream about my someday future house (which I hope is as pretty as this one!).

What are you loving this week?

Yes, his SNL was really good! I’m glad you have access to his CD too–it’s too good to not listen to.

Thanks for the Barre link! I’ve been so curious but haven’t wanted to invest in classes/DVDs without trying it out first.

Have you tried the Royal Dark Cadbury Mini Eggs? They are EXTREMELY hard to find, but I’ve found that Walgreen’s carries them. They take the amazingness of Mini Eggs to a whole new amazingness level. (I tend to hoarde them and buy half a dozen bags at a time. They’re that good.)

I haven’t tried Barre workouts, but having done ballet for eleven years of my life several lifetimes ago, I can attest to the fact that those workouts will leave your legs a-quiver something fierce. I have wanted to try them as a good low-impact workout but classes in Boston are hella expensive. Maybe I will look into DVDs or something but I am glad to hear your recommendation.

And, I love those teal chairs!
