Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 6/7/13
Rain, rain go away! I’m looking forward to a somewhat quiet weekend. Joe and I are going to drive upstate with Chief for a hike, which we’ve been looking forward to for a long time, but that’s our only big plan. The rest of the time I look forward to relaxing, finishing a draft of a story I’m working on, and catching up on reading (thanks to a friend, I now have a copy of People of the Book to read again–hooray!).
What are you up to for this weekend?
Best of the Looks:
Jen’s look at The Effortless Chic really encapsulates the name of her blog–both effortless and chic. This is the kind of look I want to emulate during my summer vacations!
Buzzfeed assembled 27 tips for a great at-home manicure.
Shit Bloggers Wear = new favorite Tumblr.
Christian Siriano’s Resort 2014 collection is stunning, and really reminds me of Kate Spade and recent Oscar de la Renta–nice to see from a Project Runway alum!
Best of the Books:
If you enjoy the Onion, you should definitely check out The Reductress, Onion-like humor for the lady set.
This makes me love Dolly Parton even more.
I got a kick out of these fixes to classic movie titles with bad grammar.
These maps of how dialects differ throughout the US are absolutely fascinating.
I have a weakness for “coming of age novels.” The Guardian has a list of their top 10. How many have you read? (I’ve only read 3!).
Have a great weekend!
