I just got my second box today and I was a little disappointed. Even though I have a good amount of referral credits saved up (you get $25 in credit every time someone you refer gets a box), I think I will only end up keeping one item from this fix. But you know what that means…I get to sign up for another one!!
I love the anticipation of the Fix, knowing you have a mystery box full of fun new clothes waiting for you at home. It gave me something to look forward to all day, which was nice. That in itself is worth the $20 styling credit, to me.
My disappointment in today’s Fix wasn’t because I really disliked any of the items–I just didn’t LOVE any of them, and for me to be buying clothing right now, the items need to make me look good and feel good.
I took some photos, but I apologize for the quality–they are just iPhone photos, but it’s the best I could do (my other camera’s battery was dead).
First up are a pair of jeans and a button-down shirt. I liked both, but again, neither enough to justify buying them. The shirt (by Jach’s Girlfriend) is really cute and I liked the fit, but I already have a polka dot button down shirt, so that’s why I’m not keeping it.
As for the jeans, they are Kut from the Kloth baby bootcut jeans in black, and while they were super comfortable, they were too long and a bit too big around the waist and the legs, so I’m returning them.
Along with this outfit, I tried the Black Swan printed blazer. I actually really liked the fit–it is super comfortable and cute, but I already have 4 blazers in my closet, and this print in particular made me feel too mannish.
It looks a little cuter with the sleeves rolled up, but I’m still not convinced I need a 5th blazer.
The remaining two items in my box were a black dolman sleeved sweater from Pink Martini and a red pleated skirt from Peppermint. I don’t like the sweater at all–it’s shapeless and makes me feel short-waisted. But the skirt is actually almost exactly what I’ve been looking for–a short a-line skirt in a fun color. I don’t normally wear red so it’s a little outside my comfort zone, which is fun. The material is a little chintzy, but at just $34 (plus the $20 styling credit), it’s cute enough to add to my closet.
Have any of you tried Stitch Fix? What did you think? Would you do it again? I’m going to go sign up for my third box right now!
