Best of the Looks, Best of the Books 2/7/14

2014 February 7

I’ve been in Boston for nearly a week now–crazy! I’m still adjusting to many things, just getting a feel for my daily routine and slowly unpacking my boxes. I’ve got a long shopping list of stuff I need to get for the apartment–curtains! a comforter! a bathmat!–so hopefully I can get some of that done this weekend. I’m looking forward to some decorating!

How are all of you dealing with February so far?

Best of the Looks:

There’s just something about a sweet white dress paired with a black leather jacket and tights. Kendi is killing it (in the best way).

A guide to pronouncing fancy designer names correctly–impress all your friends!

Lipstick roundup at Coffee Beans & Bobby Pins.

A gorgeous vintage lapis lazuli ring that I covet.

This ASOS dress is perfect for spring.

Best of the Books:

I just finished my good friend Andrew Ladd’s debut novel What Ends and it’s stunning. Read his playlist at Largehearted Boy, then listen while you read the book.

Loved this story by Karin C. Davidson at Passages North (shout out to Lyndsey at Ploughshares for sharing it in her “Best Story I Read in a Lit Mag This Week” column).

Just lovely: An Open Letter to the Mix Tape Made for Me by My College Boyfriend, Now Deceased by Summer Brennan.

An illustrated review of The Goldfinch.

 Clickable book titles. So interesting.

Happy weekend!

Okay, now I’m obsessed with that ASOS dress.

Just so you know, as a result of your link to ASOS, I went on a total online shopping spree on Friday. Five dresses later, I’d like to thank you for the wardrobe inspiration!
